Join acclaimed dancer Neha Parikh for a 2-hour immersive workshop exploring the grace and expressive elegance of Mohiniyattam. Participants will explore: • Basic exercises & body conditioning to develop the foundation, posture, and technique of Mohiniyattam • The signature gentle swaying and graceful movements of the form, along with delicate footwork and basic dance steps • An introduction to the hand gestures (mudras) used in Mohiniyattam and their expressive significance • The beauty and artistry of this captivating Indian classical dance tradition Artistic Director of Chidambaram Nritya Kala Academy, founded in 2005, Neha Parikh is a highly accomplished Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam exponent known for her authentic teaching style, disciplined approach, and commitment to excellence. She holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Indian Classical Dance from Nalanda Institute, Mumbai, founded by Padma Bhushan Dr. Smt. Kanak Rele. A recipient of the Excellence Award from the India Association of New Hampshire and the Spotlight on Excellence Award from Lokvani, Neha is also recognized as a Traditional Artist by the New Hampshire State Arts Council.
